Skin Peels Face Fit
It is the time of year when hot showers and snuggling up to watch movies becomes a ritual. As much as we might love the change up of cold weather, it is important to make sure you are aware of how the change in seasons can affect our skin and what we need to do to keep on top of your skin’s needs.
Winter is the perfect time to treat yourself to a Skin Peel. In Winter your skin is experiencing dryness from the cold air, low temperatures, and cold winds, as well as lacking exposure to UV rays and naturally produced moisture from the heat and humidity. Without receiving proper hydration, your skin can become dry, flaky and develop early signs of aging. Skin Peels are great because they target these issues and more.
A benefit of getting a Skin Peel in winter is that most treatments will require you to avoid prolonged sun exposure post treatment. This is especially easy to do in the colder months when we are less likely to partake in outdoor activities or sun ourselves on the sand. Below are our favourites in fabulous Skin Peels you could indulge in this winter.
The Cosmelan peel is the world’s leading depigmentation treatment. It targets discolouration, sun damage and hyperpigmentation whilst removing dead skin and debris. The mask actively regulates the production of melanin to not only clear current pigmentation but prevent it from occurring again. The Cosmelan mask contains a cocktail of active ingredients which deliver great results whilst being gentle on the skin and leaving the client feeling refreshed.
The treatment begins with applying a de-pigmentation mask. Your technician will instruct you to leave this mask on between 6-12 hours depending on your skins condition. The mask can be washed off with a cleanser and requires the patient to apply a series of aftercare products daily, for months following the treatment (it is SO worth it!).
The weeks following the treatment, patients can expect to see blemishes and pigmentation fading as well as a healthy glow from within. The results typically can be seen from 3 to 6 weeks after the masking process. The Cosmelan peel does require a higher level of maintenance than other peels on the market, although the results are world renowned. It’s truly a game changer in terms of clearing uneven skin tone concerns.
Lactic Acid Peel
Lactic acid peels have a long list of benefits to keep your skin plump and hydrated throughout the colder seasons. It works to clear dead skin, daily grime, debris, and toxins. Simultaneously the peel rejuvenates your skin, fights signs of aging whilst tightening, brightening, and delivering anti-anting results. Lactic acid can also clear and prevent acne by drying up oily skin.’
The peel is an alpha hydroxy acid which is derived from milk. It works by penetrating the epidermis and breaking down skin cell bonds. This allows the outer layer of skin to clear away and reveal a smoother and younger looking complexion. Lactic acid peels are suitable for those with mild to moderate skin concerns.
Medi-facial peels use a chemical solution on your skin which accelerates the exfoliation process. This treatment targets concerns with hyperpigmentation, rosacea, acne, sun damage, aging and general redness. The process works by removing the first layer of skin which effectively speeds up skin cell turnover. Results include having lighter and brighter skin with improved overall skin tone and texture.
Time Reveal Peel
Time reveal peels target deeper, vital layers of the skin resulting in long-term benefits. Time reveal peels are a sophisticated exfoliating cosmeceutical which accelerates circulation, signalling collagen generation. The treatment works to reduce fine lines, scarring and pigmentation whilst smoothing skin texture, and brightening the patient’s overall complexion.
