How To Keep Your Skin Hydrated In Winter

skin treatment gold coast

As we step into the cooler months of the year, a problem many of us are confronted with is dryer, dehydrated skin. Aside from visual side effects, dry skin can cause irritation and discomfort. It can be painful, itchy, flaky, and darn right ruin the vibe of a good day (basically, we’re not here for it!).

Wearing make-up only highlights dry patches and leads to further irritation and you are left feeling like you might be better off just wearing a motorcycle helmet and wetsuit to hide away behind. So, what can you do!?! We have put together some helpful tips and highlighted a few saviour products to boost your skins hydration back to life this winter. Read on, foxes.

BOOK A HYDRAFRACIAL

If you are an avid reader of our blogs, you would have already read up on the amazing HydraFacial we now offer here at Face Fit. If you are new to the scene here is a little recap.

The HydraFacial is a treatment which resurfaces, rejuvenates, and revitalises the skin. Sounds great right?!? These are all the words we love to hear when talking about skin, but what exactly does it all mean?

The HydraFacial is a combination of advanced skincare and technology which aims to exfoliate, clear out pores and allows nourishing serums to penetrate deep into the skin, all of which help to give your skin the ultimate hydration boost you’re so desperately seeking this winter.

The three steps involved in the process of this wonder facial include, cleanse & peel, extract & hydrate, and fuse & protect. For a more thorough breakdown check out our blog specifically dedicated to this glorious treatment!!

INVEST IN AN EPIC MOISTURISER

The products that you incorporate into your daily skincare regimen can make or break the good work of professional skin treatments. With such a vast array of products on the market today it can be difficult to know where to begin.

We can agree that hydration is one of the most, if not the most vital part of keeping up a glowing, smooth, and healthy complexion. Face Fit have done the legwork for you when it comes to trustworthy and reliable products so you can be sure that your hard earned cash is not going to waste when you invest in a quality product. We cannot vouch more for the Aspect Skincare and Dr Aspect range.

One of our all-time faves is the RESVERATROL by Dr Aspect. This little beaut is luxury in a tub. A rich and nourishing moisturising cream which soaks the skin in a deluge of hydration with this rich moisturising properties. Containing peptides and resveratrol to help firm the surface of skin for a more youthful looking complexion.

IT’S TIME TO MASK

Another important step to include in your home-skin-care regimen is a mask.

Not only does mask application fulfil a sense of indulgence, it also works wonders on your skin. As our focus right now is based around hydration, we suggest a mask which incorporates these qualities. Vouching again for Aspect Skincare and Dr Aspect when it comes to a hydration mask with a difference. Aspects Probiotic Mask is the TLC therapy sesh your skin has been begging you for! It will nurture and replenish dry, dehydrated skin with a blend of vitamins, antioxidants and shea butter for instant hydration.

A hydrating, nourishing mask with antioxidant protection, and calming ingredients this mask will increase the moisture content of your skin and leave it feeling as silky smooth as a baby’s bottom.

We are talking about ingredients that know how to (excuse our French) get s***t done!! Packed with Vitamins, Shea Butter, and a blend of Pomegranate and Acai Berry, AKA high in antioxidants. , this mask means business!

AVOID HOT SHOWERS

With the weather a little too refreshing we are going to raise our hand and admit to the pure bliss of a steaming hot shower. We know that it’s tempting to crank the heat and feel that hot water warm us up after a long Winters day, however this is an all so common faux pas, we promise you your skin is not enjoying this.

The hot water is actively stripping your skin of all its natural oils, causing further dehydration. You might notice when you step out from a hot shower that your skin is tingling and then becomes itchy and irritated. This is its way of letting you know that you have done something wrong. Try to keep your showers at a regular lukewarm heat to help maintain your skins natural oils and hydration.

UP YOUR WATER INTAKE

Last but certainly not least, remember to keep your body hydrated!!!

Fill that water bottle and then fill it again!!! This is the oldest tip in the book and its one we can so often forget as we manically run through our busy days. Carry your water bottle with you throughout the day so you remember to drink the required daily intake. Your body and your skin will love you for it!

Skin health is what we preach here at Face Fit. We are loaded with tips, products and treatments which will help you and your skin. If you are interested in reaching out, please do not hesitate to contact our team for all things skin!
